More Photos of the Naval Dispute

Here are two more photos of the incident:

The United States has decided to deploy the destroyer USS Chung-Hoon to the South China Sea to provide armed escort for its intelligence ships. It is interesting to see how PRC plans to react. One thing though, it is in neither country's interest to have this incident escalated, when the whole world is in the middle of a financial crisis. More Cold War anyone?

The us needs a new boggy man after the cold war to justified its military budget. even though the russians would still make a great bogey man.

they send bombers near american base in Guam, Alaska,Canada and they want to build bomber bases in Venezuela or cuba.

americans use chinese military spending as proof of chinas bad intentions yet chinese population and country is much bigger than say france or uk. yet the military spending is about the same and have around the same amount of nukes.

so who is really spending more a big country like china or uk or france?

point is america is trying to use excuses.

In defense planning you have to hedge against capabilities... not just intentions. China is seeking access denial capabilities that specifically target America's strengths. If it was your job to purchase defense capabilities and you saw another country purchasing weapons that are designed to counter only your strengths I am sure you would be equally concerned.
